Dental Hygiene Kit
As denture wearers know, dentures can crack or teeth can break loose and pop out at the worst and most inconvenient times. Most of the breaks or cracks can be done for hundreds less and in the comforts of your home. No need to send out and wait days without your dentures.

At-Home Dental Oral Hygiene Kit

Tooth decay and gum disease are largely caused by plaque, a sticky combination of bacteria and food. Plaque begins to accumulate on teeth within 20 minutes after eating. If this plaque is not removed thoroughly each day, tooth decay will flourish. Over time, plaque will harden into tartar.

Our Dental Hygiene Kit Includes the Following:

Dental Scaler - use this instrument to locate and remove plaque, tartar, stains and debris. You'll find these things are located on and between the teeth, along the gum lines, and on the front and backside of the teeth and on dentures too. If you wish to keep most of this stuff off your teeth, this is the only instrument that will do just that.

Dental Explorer - Dentist use this instrument to check every surface of your teeth for areas of decay; the instrument will catch or stick in spots created by cavities.

Dental Mirrors - This instrument is used to inspect your gum tissue and hidden areas along the backside of teeth. You're checking for swollen or irritated looking gums, bleeding gums, tooth decay, and heavy tartar build-up.

Disclosing Tablets - Are used to disclose (make visible) the tartar, plaque and debris on your teeth. Plaque will be Dark red and the clean areas of the teeth will be a pale pink color. The dark areas need to be cleaned with the dental scaler thats included with each kit.

Plaque & tartar can lead to a number of problems:

  • Cavities -- holes that damage the structure of teeth
  • Gingivitis -- swollen, inflamed, bleeding gums
  • Periodontitis -- destruction of the ligaments & bone that support the teeth
  • Bad breath - also known as halitosis
  • Abscesses, Pain, Inability to use Teeth

Healthy teeth are clean and have few cavities. Healthy gums are pink and firm. To maintain healthy teeth and gums, follow these steps:

  • Brush your teeth at least twice daily, preferably after every meal and at bedtime.
  • Floss at least once per day.
  • Schedule an appoint with a dentist for a routine cleaning and examination. Many dentists recommend having the teeth professionally cleaned every 6 months.
  • Keep dentures, retainers, and other appliances clean. This includes regular brushing and may include soaking them in a cleansing solution.

* Do not try to clean decay (brown or black spots) with any of the instruments provided. When trying to remove plaque from your teeth, do not use any of the instruments provided to clean below the gumline. This should only be done by a dentist!
